Artist Statement
When there is a security camera DO YOU FEEL SAFE?
When there is a phone in hand DO YOU FEEL SAFE?
When you create a social media account DO YOU FEEL SAFE?
People tend to value their privacy, but does privacy exist in this world overpopulated by surveillance? People accept the terms and conditions essentially giving away all personal information without hesitation yet continue to put a sticker over their laptop webcams. The bag hiding my identity is the reflection of how people think they are viewed, yet cameras film our identity and every action 24/7.

I AM A SECURITY CAMERA is an interactive performance streamed live via YouTube Livestream, commenting on our society’s perception on surveillance and false sense of privacy that we share.
The performance takes place in Salt Lake City, UT. This livestream is being displayed as an exhibit at Snow College, in Ephraim, UT.
